Competition is rough in the world of e-commerce and retailers are constantly seeking new ways to stand out and give shoppers confidence in purchasing their products. One dilemma online retailers face is only being able to show customers a flat picture of their product, and even the highest qualified product photographers find it challenging to give people an actual representation of the product in a single or even a set of pictures.
Virtual Photography
Virtual photography, or virtual reality (VR) photography, is the interactive way of viewing wide-angle panoramic photographs comprising a 360-degree spherical view. Virtual photography is the art of obtaining or creating a complete scene as a single image, as seen when rotating about a uniquely pivotal position. Many Google street view trusted agencies in London provide the highest quality virtual, panoramic photography for some major corporations, airports, real estate, and landmarks. Interactive Virtual Tours are designed from multiple 360°vr (Virtual Reality) images which are combined within an Interface, also known as a Skin. The process commences by photographing a series of 10 or more still images of a selected location. By making use of precision panoramic cameras and camera mounts which revolve on their optical axis, we can perfectly align all of the pictures. The images are then joined together using specialized software to create up to a 360-degree panoramic photograph. The resulting panoramic picture is then produced using virtual reality viewing software to build an Interactive Panoramic Image. The Interactive Panoramic Image allows users to observe a location by looking left, right, upward and downward and zooming in and out all with just a click of the mouse.
Google Street View
Google Street View tours are often quite simple, Google hosts them, and most don’t require any additional interface to navigate them. A bespoke Virtual Tour usually requires an interface which we will explain later. Both are Google and Street View imagery is produced in similar ways, though often our Bespoke service is of higher quality and resolution. The design process usually starts with a discussion between the Google Street View Photographer with the client about their ideas and what they expect to achieve with the investment of a Virtual Tour. From this a brief is produced, the preferred platform for the tour is decided and work on the design can begin.
Using 360 product photography is an exceptional way to distinguish your products and your e-commerce website from your adversaries’. 360-degree pictures not only catch shoppers’ eyes more than normal ones, but they also assist the shopper to spend more time looking at or interacting with it than a typical picture. Which in turn means they are more likely to end up buying from that site as statistics show the longer a customer spends on a website, the more likely they are to make a purchase.
